Did you ever saw a gray building and said: “Wow, that’s a really cool building?” Probably not. This is why Detroit-based artist Louise Jones has a mission to turn those boring buildings into vibrant art structures with her impressive flower murals.
After her floral mural on one of Detroit’s buildings gained a lot of attention and praise, Jones, who is also known as Ouizi in the art world, went on to paint 40 more murals in cities across the globe; from Los Angeles and New York to Shanghai.
“Flowers are a vehicle for me to explore color and shapes. They remind me so much of my own body — they’re very feminine,” Ouizi said in an interview. “I consider myself to be feminine but haven’t always felt that way. As I get older, I’ve learned to embrace my femininity, and I find myself increasingly drawn to flowers with age.”
